Is a small wind turbine right for your home?

A small wind turbine's output depends far more on the wind at your specific site than on its rated power. GreenPie estimates what a documented turbine could produce at your location.

What “small wind” means

GreenPie focuses on residential machines of about 1–6 kW. These are very different from utility turbines, and they only make sense where the local wind is strong enough.

Site, height and obstacles

Wind improves with height and open surroundings. Nearby trees and buildings create turbulence that a simple model cannot fully resolve, so GreenPie shows height and surroundings as context, not as a replacement for a site check.

Power curves and annual energy

Each documented turbine has a published power curve. GreenPie combines the curve with historical wind at your hub height to estimate annual energy production (AEP). Rated power alone is not enough — the curve and your wind decide the output.

The documented catalogue

GreenPie models a small, source-backed catalogue of turbines. It estimates energy, not price or payback, and it does not recommend a specific model or act as an installer.
